At StatusCake we have a wide range of monitoring features! This article serves as a appendix and summary of our primary features, and a place where you can quickly find more information on what’s offered by each tool!
Alerts and Notifications
Alerting – All of our alerts are configured through what we call contact groups, these groups store data on different alerting methods, as well as custom fields on how often an alert should repeat, and other factors. Click the link to see which alerting methods we offer.
Contact Groups – Set up contact groups to enable alerts on the account.
Integrations – Integrations can be added to your contact group in order to get alerts to services like Slack, Pushover and Microsoft Teams!
Maintenance Windows – You can set up a maintenance window in advance to prevent planned downtime from impacting on your reporting and uptime percentage.
Testing
Basic Auth – This tool allows you to make use of Basic Authentication to gain access to restricted poges for testing.
Bulk Add – This tool allows you to add many tests at once with the same settings.
Bulk Update – With this tool it’s easy to modify tests in bulk.
Check Rate – We offer a variety of check rates, from the 5 minute max check rate on our free community plan, to the ultra fast “Constant” check rate available on our Enterprise plan, click the link to see which check rates we offer, and how these can also be handled through our API.
Content Match – Content match allows you to match one or multiple strings in the source for the page you are checking , you can then be alerted if these strings are found/not found.
Dashboards – Dashboards allow you to display information on all test types in a single place, these are optimized for large office displays, and provide a live view of your operations.
Domain Monitoring – These checks ensure that you don’t miss domain renewals by checking and alerting on Domain expiry dates.
Email Templates – With Email Templating you are able to fully brand and customize your outgoing email alerts and reports for internal and external usage.
Final Location – This feature can be used to ensure that the last page that the test lands on aligns with what is expected – and we can send you an alert if that’s not the case!
Page Speed Tests – Page Speed testing gives you accurate measurements on each aspect of the page load, you can view detailed graphs and stats which allow you to identify areas for improvement, and you can also be alerted if the page changes size or takes longer to load than the set parameters.
POST data – We can send POST data with a test to fill a HTML form or complete a similar task.
Public reporting pages – With Public reporting we offer an easy way to share your uptime test stats for a selection of tests, this can be done either publicly, or internally with pass-worded pages.
PUSH testing – This feature allows you to monitor systems that are not available externally, we require that the target server execute a cron at a chosen interval, and a full set of data will be produced in the StatusCake dashboard.
Reports (Email) – With our email reports you can choose to send out a periodic summary for the uptime of all tests, or you can send a manual report out for a selection of tests just as easily from the dashboard.
Server Monitoring – With our Server monitoring tool you can keep an eye on the RAM, CPU and DISK usage of your servers, you can also see a full summary of which processes are running and what they are using individually. Along with alerting if custom thresholds are exceeded
SSL testing – SSL tests check and alert on the Expiry dates for your certificates, helping to ensure that renewals are never missed!
Sub-Accounts – This tool allows you to add additional user accounts with access to the main data, users can be either view-only or full-edit, and the tests that each user is able to see/modify can be managed using test tags.
Testing Locations – We offer a range of 43 testing locations from which you can configure your uptime tests to run.
Tags – These can be used for a variety of tasks, from selectively adding tests to a Public Reporting Page, to filtering tests in the Dashboard.
Uptime Tests – Our Uptime tests are the primary function of the service, we can run these tests via the HTTP,TCP,SSH,DNS,SMTP,PING and PUSH protocols.
